Kay is named after Mr. Bojesen himself who was a great fan of the colour blue. He was always either dressed in an immaculate blue suit, shirt and tie or a white smock. The Songbird – like his five colourful siblings – was never put into production when first designed by Kay Bojesen in the 1950s. A gift idea for a flying start to life. Perfect for christenings, birthdays, school leavers, anniversaries and weddings.Size: 15 cm Material: Painted beech woodThe Bojesen family’s patio in Bellavista was full of flowers, wicker furniture and birds. We found a photograph of the Songbird in one of the family photo albums. On investigating, it emerged that there were originally five birds. The songbirds were created based on the original birds as well as a little flock of birds glued to a stick, all painted in Kay Bojesen’s original, glowing colours.
