Skagerak is a witty, but also touching and dramatic comedy by Søren Kragh-Jakobsen in collaboration with Iben Hjejle after their joint success with “Mifune’s Last Song”.Two rootless girls, Marie and Sophie (played by Iben Hjejle and Bronagh Gallagher from The Commitments), have ended up in a scary environment in Scotland after partying around the world. In a a drunken stupor, Marie says yes to becoming a foster mother, as the girls do not have a penny in their pocket. However, she regrets this very quickly as things start to tighten. But… there are children who just WANT to be born!
